The Nagpada police arrested Napalese national Ganga Lama Tamang after raiding her brothel located on 98/A, 13th Kamathipura Lane in connection with kidnapping and forcing two minors into prostitution. She has also been charged for rape under the provisions of the IPC, said the police.

According to sources, Tamang is wanted in three cases related to trafficking of girls from Nepal. She is also named in similar offences at Pune and Surat in Gujarat, sources added.

Not surprisingly, the Napalese police had sought the help of Interpol to arrest and escort her to face prosecution in the Himalayan kingdom.

Native of Dharan district in Nepal, Ganga married Uttam Tamang before the duo were involved in trafficking around 20 girls from the Himalayan kingdom. She later joined hands with other pimps like Krishna Pariyar, Vishnu Pariyar, Kumar and Raj and was allegedly involved in forcing 25 other girls into the immoral business, sources added.

Investigations have revealed that Ganga Tamang was running a prostitution racket from 98A and Bungalow No 9 on 13th Kamathipura Lane. She is also believed to own another brothel at Bungalow No 95 on Shuklaji Street in Central Mumbai.
