DERA BASSI, Aug 18: Several industrial, social and residents welfare organisations of the township have hailed the decision of District Telecom Authority for extending the facility of direct dialling to Chandigarh.
With the implementation of direct dialling, the long-pending demand of the industrialists of the township who run their offices from Chandigarh has been accepted. Expressing its gratitude to the telecom authority, the Dera Bassi Industries Association has termed the step as a right decision at the right time. It will help in improving the condition of the industries which have been facing recession over the last few months.
In a joint statement issued here yesterday, president of Dera Bassi Rotary Club, Bhupinder Singh Saini, MC president Jagjit Singh Dali, Zirakpur sarpanch Jaspal Singh, Property Dealers Association president of the local unit and BJP Mandal president Ravinder Vaishnav thanked Prem Singh Chandumajra, MP, for pressing Telecom officials in getting the residents’ demand of direct dialling accepted.
The areas, where direct dialling from the township is available, include Chandigarh, Ambala, Panchkula, Mohali, Patiala, Ropar, Rajpura, Yamuna Nagar and Solar (using 92 instead of 0 as the STD Code.)
