MUKTSAR, July 13: The local police have booked Bharat Bhusan Setia, a kown industrialist of the region and a close confidant of the Badal family and his two men Tunia and Teeta Jagga for allegedly kidnapping and intimidating two brothers Roshan Lal (55) and Ramesh Kumar (48).A case under Sections 365,342,506 and 34 IPC has been registered against them in the city police station, but no arrest has been made so far.Police which were earlier reluctant to register a case against them, had to succumb to the pressure generated by the local businessmen, social activists and leaders of the opposite parties. However, the victims had lodged a complaint with the police on July 8, but the police registered the case on July 11.Roshan Lal and Ramesh Kumar alleged that Setia got them abducted from their residence in the early morning of July 7. They were allegedly kept in the Setia's farm house outisde the town, for nearly 20 hours. After that, they were pakced in a car and rushed to senior IPS officer's residence in Sector 34 of Chandigarh, they alleged. However, from there the duo dodged the guards and reached back home here, the next morning.They alleged that Setia kidnapped them with the objective to acquire money which he claimed to have lent to their younger brother Rajesh Kumar who died over a year ago. Both the complainants claimed that since their brother had been living separately singe past several years. They were neither aware nor responsible to deal with the borrowing if any, they said.They further alleged that Setia not only abused them during their kidnapping but also threatened them with dire consequences for not clearing the borrowing of their younger brother. They alleged that except tea, they were served nothing to eat during their illegal confinement.
