Indian gets fellowship of American College of Physicians

Dr Rajan Ravichandran, a Chennai - based nephrologist and Director of Madras Institute of Nephrology at Vijaya Hospital, has been conferred prestigious Fellowship of American College of Physicians.

Dr Rajan Ravichandran, a Chennai – based nephrologist and Director of Madras Institute of Nephrology at Vijaya Hospital, has been conferred prestigious Fellowship of American College of Physicians (FACP).

The honour was conferred on Ravichandran in a convocation held in Washington during the annual congress of FACP on Thursday.

The distinction prize recognises his achievements in internal medicine, the Speciality of adult care.

A graduate of Seth G.S. Medical College and KEM Hospitals in Mumbai, Dr. Revisionary completed sub-speciality training in nephrology in the same institute in 1983.

He was appointed visiting professor in the Ramachandra Medical College in Chennai in 1993. In 1997, he was appointed visiting professor of the Tokyo Women’s Medical College. He was also appointed adjunct professor in IIT-Madras in 2005.

Railway authorities promptly took action, shifting passengers to other coaches and quickly extinguishing the fire.

A fire broke out in a coach of Amritsar–Saharsa Garib Rath Express at Sirhind Station in Punjab, but no casualties were reported. Railway officials quickly took action, shifting passengers to other coaches and extinguishing the fire. The train will depart to its destination shortly. The incident occurred at 07:30 hrs and is currently being investigated.
