MUMBAI, SEPT 25: Indian Bank today launched three more automated teller machines (ATMs) at its Vashi, CBD Belapur and Matunga main branches in the city. These ATMs were inaugurated by the bank's chairperson and managing director Ranjana Kumar. Indian Bank already has five ATMs and four cash dispensers in the city. The bank is also planning to launch two more ATMs soon.The Mumbai region, the second biggest region of the bank with a business of over Rs 3,700 crore, contributes 13.90 per cent of the bank's business. Out of the 44 branches in the region, 15 are fully computerised and by the first week of October another 20 branches are expected to be computerised.The bank has a total business of more than Rs 26,600 crore with Rs 17,900 crore deposits and Rs 8,700 crore in advances. Indian Bank was the first bank to introduce ATM facility at its Chennai branch, way back in 1988. It was also the first to introduce a drive-in-ATM facility in India. The bank has so far installed 31 ATMs and has ambitious plan to install additional 45 ATMs throughout the country.
