Indian archer Mangal Singh Champia, blamed lack of modern practice facilities in the country and windy conditions for his failure in the Games.

Champia, who lost to Russian Bair Badenov 108-109 in the individual section of Beijing Olympics, said he could not practice properly for long with the modern equipment before leaving for Beijing.

“It required some time (for me) to get used to with the new equipments,” Champia, who was sponsored by Mittal Championship Trust.

“I am so unhappy for conceding such a slender margin. I have to learn from the mistakes and work hard for the London event, four years from now,” he added.

Bronze medallist in Doha Asiad, who received a warm welcome in Jharkhand on Saturday, came down heavily on state government for its approach towards sports and said “it was difficult to make archery a career if the government’s support did not come through.”
