Players8217; insurance
CALCUTTA: BCCI president Raj Singh Dungarpur today informed that the board might introduce two insurance schemes for cricketers. The first of them, to be called the Raman Lamba Scheme, is an accident insurance for cricketers participating in tournaments conducted by the board. This insurance will cover death or injury while playing or during transitbefore and after the match.
The second scheme, on the lines of Medicare, will cover all retired first class cricketers and will provide economic security to them after retirement. This scheme might be named after Dhruv Pandove, a cricketer from Punjab who died in a road accident while travelling to a match venue. Both the schemes will be placed before the BCCI working committee for approval.
