BANGALORE: India8217;s largest greeting card, with signatures of over five lakh young fans, wishing the Indian cricket team good luck in the coming World Cup in England, was unveiled here on Sunday.
Children between eight to 14 years from 370 schools across the country have signed on the 20-foot tall and 900-foot wide card, which has been entered into the Limca Book of World Records.

KOCHI: The Reynolds All-India National Women8217;s Tennis Tournament begins here on Monday. But with only 14 entries thequalifying round has been scrapped. The draw will be made on Monday evening. A measly prize money of around Rs 50,000 and the timing of the tournament have been the reasons for the poor turnout.

Gadgil clinches title
AMBALA: Top seeded Sridevi Gadgil of Bangalore today clinched the women singles title defeating Sangeeta Raj Gopalan of Madhya Pradesh by 11-7, 11-5 at the All India Civil Services Badminton Tournament being held here.
Women doubles title was won by Sangeeta and Vandana of Madhya Pradesh who beat Saroj Chauhan and Sridevi of RSB Chandigarh and Bangalore by 15-17, 15-7, 15-8.
Bengal in final
NEW DELHI: Holders Bengal maintained their supremacy shunting out Mizoram 2-0 to enter the final of the sub-junior National football Championship here on Sunday. Bengal scored the first goal in the 6th minute by Sona Biswas. After the breather, Supratik added second in the 62nd minute.

CALCUTTA: Bangladesh Army defeated Sri Lankan army 2-0 in the second match of the Inter-Army friendship football tournament at the Salt Lake Stadium.
Both the goals were scored by Md Tutul Mian. India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Bhutan are participating in the tournament.
Meet postponed
HISAR: The three-day All India Inter-Agricultural University Athletic meet earlier scheduled to be held at CCS Haryana Agricultural University from March 22 has been postponed. The event in most probability will be held in October-November this year.
