NAGPUR, Jan 20: Officials of the Income Tax department raided the residence, offices of a well-known satta king here and recovered cash and ornaments worth over Rs one crore. Incriminating documents were also seized.

This was the first I-T raid after the conclusion of the Voluntary Disclosure of Income Scheme on December 31. The raids on the seven premises and office of the satta king, which began on Saturday morning, continued till late in the evening.

Sources said I-T officials wanted to nab the satta king for quite sometime. This satta king had entered the oil business just two months ago. More than 80 I-T officials participated in the raids. The I-T officials are investigating into the books, and other papers seized from the satta king. The value of the seized papers is worth over Rs one crore, the sources added.
