IIT-K faces shortage of teachers

When 27 per cent quota for OBC students is implemented, the problem of lack of faculty members may become acute at Indian Institute of Technology-Kanpur. HoD, Civil Engineering, IIT-K, C V R Murty said: “If a teacher is handling a class of 30-35 students, he can devote time to each student, but if he is given a class of 60 students, it would be impossible to maintain the same standards.’’
