KOLHAPUR, May 20: Hyderabad, having done their home work well, dethroned champions Mumbai to win the title in the State Bank of India Inter-Circle kabaddi tournament which concluded at the Shivaji stadium here today.The last league encounter between the two ended in a 17-17 tie resulting in both teams ending with seven points each. However, the superior points difference enjoyed by Hyderabad saw them pocket the title.Hyderabad, aided by Narsing Rao and Vijay Kumar Yadav, had a 10-3 lead at the break as Mumbai indulged in needless catching of their opponents. But the hosts came back to equalise 10-10 after the break with their raiders Sagar Bhogate and Prasad Narkar finding their rhythm. They soon moved up 14-11 but Hyderabad came back to catch up 15-15 with Ravindra Halake and Sagar Bhogate getting trapped. Prasad and Vishwas Jadhav made it 17-15 only for Hyderabad to tie the score and snatch away the title. Mumbai's effort to trap Vijay Kumar failed and they lost two players and points in the process.Wrestling campA 15-day wrestling camp has been in progress by the Maharashtra Wrestling Association at Ambegaon, Budruk, from May 16, and in order to promote the rural sport which is confined to mud wrestling, the organisers are also stressing on a mat wrestling event.Over 100 wrestlers will be accommodated in the camp which will be held from 9.00 to 11.00 a.m. in the morning and from 6.00 to 8.00 p.m. in the evening.The camp is being marshalled by well known coaches such as Visal Kature, Prof Raju Mate, Prof. Balasebh Margaze, Pradeep Bhosale and Sunil Shete.For details contact Vishal Kature, Flat No 2, Amra Sant Nagar, Aneshwar, Pune 9.
