Shocked by the defeat of Team India, a 28-year-old fan suffered heart attack just after the match and died. P Raju’s family said that he was a “cricket freak” and could not bear to watch India being evicted from the World Cup.

According to family members, Raju was watching the match on Friday in his Champapet house with wife Kavita. After India’s dismal loss, Raju told his wife that India did not play well, and that they should have concentrated more. After this, he collapsed, writhing in pain.

His wife called his friends and brother, who rushed him to a nearby hospital. When he was brought there, he was declared dead, and doctors said that it was due to heart attack. Family members said that Raju had few medical problems.

Meanwhile, elsewhere in the city, there were protests and outbursts of anger against the team’s loss. In the old city, fans carried out rallies bemoaning the loss.
