VADODARA, MARCH 23: A two-day seminar on Human Rights: A New Face of Social Work Profession8217; began at the Faculty of Social Work on Tuesday as part of the faculty8217;s and the M S University8217;s golden jubilee celebrations. Unlike other seminars, where experts share their experiences, in this seminar students of the faculty will present papers and speak from their experiences. On Tuesday, students presented papers on Human Rights: Concepts, Trends and Philosophy, and Child and Human Rights.

Speaking on Human Rights: The Trends and Concepts8217; S Krishnakumar, a second year student said the concept of human rights could not be confined to any particular issue. 8220;Just physical torture is not violation of human rights, expecting a labour to work more than his tenure or even asking him to work beyond his capacity is also a violation,8221; he added.

Addressing the gathering, Anuja Majmundar said that trends of human rights was not just at work or factory levels but also at various places of work be it at the city or village levels. Social activist Tulsi Boda appreciated the efforts of the students, saying it was a good example of team work.
