Gopal has said in the cassette that Veerappan had shifted the hostages to 16 places after kidnapping them.

According to Kamaraj, going by Gopal’s statement that it would take 15 hours to reach Veerappan’s hide out, Gopal would now be holding talks with Veerappan as the cassette was recorded in the forest on August two.

In the audio cassette, Gopal has directed Kamaraj to inform the Tamil Nadu Government that Karnataka Task Force personnel were still present in the jungles, and that they should be directed not to follow or enter the forest until he returned to the `mainland.’
