KURUKSHETRA, Dec 2: With an aim to intensify their ongoing struggle against the “anti-employees” policies of Haryana government, the Haryana Karamchari Mahasangh leaders have called upon the members to gear up for the proposed indefinite strike, they are planning to organise.
In the state-level executive body emergency meeting held at Gujar Dharamshala here last night, the decision to this effect was taken and it was decided to seek the employees consent for the indefinite strike.
While talking to this correspondent here today, a senior “Sangh” official disclosed that to bring transparency in the functioning of the “Sangh”, the executive body has evolved a unique strategy to seek the members consent whether to go for indefinite strike or not. Nearly four lakh “Sangh” members presented their views in a specially-designed proforma and will cast their votes in the third week of December ,released the Sangh official.
According to “Karamchari Mahasangh” sources, this step has been taken after their call to observe the strike in November last failed to evoke much response from the employees and fell flat on its face. The executive committee also took a decision to involve other employee’s unions and bring them under a common platform, to ensure the complete success for the forthcoming indefinite strike.
The“Karamchari Mahasangh” disclosed that all the leaders of employees associations, the employees leaders of Haryana Civil Secretariat, Chandigarh are being approached to make a consolidated and fool-proof programme. During this emergency meeting, the former president of Kurukshetra University non-teaching employees association (KUNTEA) has promised to lend full co-operation to the ongoing employees stir.
The meeting also arrived at a decision to hold the organisational elections of Mahasangh’s block, tehsli, district and state level committees. The state president of Haryana Karamchari Mahasangh, S D kapoor, the general secretary, M L Sehgal, the press secretary, Naval Kishore and other members of executive participated in this emergency meeting.
The executive body charged the state government with creating anomalies in the pay structures of the employees, making false legal cases against the employees during the strike period, and thereby making them arrested.
