GURGAON, September 18: The town and country planning department has issued a show cause notice to former public works minister Dr Dharamvir Yadav asking him to stop construction at his farmhouse in Kanhai village. The notice comes close on the heels of a demolition exercise on an acre of encroached land adjacent to Dr Yadav’s farmhouse a couple of days ago.
The rebel Haryana Vikas Party (HVP) legislator was unfazed, and in an exclusive conversation with Express Newsline ridiculed the state government for issuing the notice saying that the farmhouse and the structure under `renovation’ were legally not in his name.
“Look at them, they have served the notice in my name but the fact remains that this property belongs to someone else from my family. Now, this indicates that the govt just wants to pester me all the time,” he said.
Yadav said that he will be touring his constituency tomorrow onwards to apprise the people about the `false promises’ made by the Bansi Lal government.
The rebel MLA from Salahwas was in a buoyant mood today as he challenged Chief Minister Bansi Lal to prove allegations of financial irregularity and corruption.
“I am the one who as the PWD minister had ordered inquiries into the upgradation works of the Civil Hospital at Panchkula where irregularities of Rs 15 to 16 lakh were detected,” the former minister claimed.
The former cabinet minister who was sacked five days ago for launching a tirade against the Chief Minister charged Bansi Lal of nepotism and mistrusting his officers. When asked whether his move, which people have termed impulsive, would ruin his political career, Yadav shot back: “I was not elected by the people to enjoy the luxuries of power. My first job was their welfare and I am sure that the people will back me. If I had any shortcomings, I would have never spoken against the Chief Minister. Jis aadmi ke dil mein chor hota hai woh kabhi bhi aawaz buland karke nahin bol sakta (A guilty person will never risk speaking up)”.
Yadav said that the face of the development in Haryana can be gauged from the fact that even six months after the lifting of prohibition things remain same on the development front, he said.
“Bansi Lal is only concerned with the welfare of Bhiwani. Even his ministers are aware of this. Take any minister into confidence and you will get a clear picture of the simmering discontent,” Yadav said.
He made it clear that he will not join any other party if expelled from the HVP. “I dare them to expel me from the party and test my resoluteness”.
The notice has been served under the Punjab Scheduled Roads and Controlled Area Restriction of Unregulated Development Act, 1983, and amended Act no. 7 of 1989. The former minister has been asked to appear before the district town planner (enforcement) on September 25.
