PUNE, MARCH 23: Rambha N Dedhe, a 30-year-old resident of the slums located at the foothills of Parvati, committed suicide on Sunday allegedly because he was being harassed by his wife and a neighbour.

Rambhau ended his life by hanging himself at his residence on Sunday morning. The incident initially went as a case of accidental death in the records of the police as he did not leave any suicide note.

However, giving a new twist to the case, Rambhau’s father Nagnath lodged a complaint at the Swargate police station accusing Rambhau’s wife Asha (25) and her friend Sonya Bodke (28) of harassing Rambhau and abetting him to commit suicide. Both Asha and Sonya have been arrested by the Swargate police.

MAN RELIEVED OF SUITCASE: Vaibhaav G Salunkhe, a resident of Panvel, has lodged a complaint with the Deccan Gymkhana police claiming that he was relieved of his suitcase containing jewellery worth over Rs 65,000 while on a tour of Pune.

Police said Salunkhe had gone to dine in a restaurant in Shivajinagar area after leaving his Maruti van parked outside on Monday night when the incident took place. The unidentified thieves opened the car’s door with a duplicate key and stole the suitcase, they added.
