The CPI on Tuesday accused the UPA government of using "most unscrupulous and unethical means" to prove its majority on the floor of Lok Sabha in the wake of allegation by BJP that its three MPs were offered crores of rupees to abstain during the trust vote."The horse trading is going on. Nobody can deny it. It is known to the world and I feel ashamed of the incident. I feel a lot of anguish," CPI General Secretary A B Bardhan said.Noting that it was a "dangerous signal for Indian democracy," he said "what has happened to our Parliamentary democracy"?"I've no disrespect to any Parliament member but those operators who are trying to convert a minority government into majority by all these methods, I condemn them," he added.CPI (M) leader Md. Saleem said that their worst fears have come true that money has changed hands and such allegations have put a question mark on the sanctity of the trust vote."We have demanded a thorough probe into the complaint and the Speaker has agreed for an enquiry," he said, adding that the incident was the "saddest thing" in the history of institution of Parliament.
