NEW DELHI, DECEMBER 15: Government proposes to build one more nuclear reactor to meet the projected future requirements of research and radio-isotope production, Lok Sabha was informed today.

However, the type of reactor and its location are yet to be finalised, Minister of State for Atomic Energy Vasundhara Raje said in a written reply.

India is willing to consider specific proposals it would receive from several developing countries, including Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal, to provide training for scientists under the sharing of experience in space (shares) programme, Raje said.

She also said eighty-four IAS/IPS officers were suspended during the last three years. These include 26 officers who belong to the Scheduled Castes and Tribes, Raje said.

PROJECTS: Meanwhile, as many as 101 of the 198 projects costing over Rs 100 crore under Government monitoring are running behind schedule, Minister of State for Programme Implementation Arun Shourie said.
