NEW DELHI, NOV 19: The government has initiated the process for out-of-court settlement of cases between Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd MTNL and Telecom Regulatory Authority of India TRAI in matters like calling party pays CPP, communication minister Ram Vilas Paswan said today.

Favouring such a process, Paswan said at the Economic Editors8217; Conference that matters like calling party pays CPP should be resolved among the concerned parties without going to the court.

He also hinted at bringing necessary amendments in the TRAI Act, if required, in order to give more powers to the regulator. He, however, refused to give any time-frame for the same.
