Govt flayed for civic problems

He flayed the Delhi Vidyut Board DVB for the frequent power cuts and the power shortage because of which people were forced to use pollution-spewing generators. The government has done precious little to deal with this problem that is affecting lakhs of residents and people working in the Walled City area, Aggarwal said.

The non-polluting battery operated buses have been taken off the road awaiting further orders from the state government, he alleged. Water and sewage lines are broken in almost all the galis bylanes resulting in a huge shortage of drinking water, he added. Such leakages lead to the mix up of water lines with sewage lines and clean water, he said. Aggarwal alleged that water-borne diseases were spreading in the walled city. He demanded that the government provide at least the basic amenities to the people.
