The floodgates seem to have opened ever since the Indian government’s go-ahead to resume bilateral cricket ties with Pakistan.

And so after the school team, it is the turn of Pakistan seniors to tour the country for the Goodwill Cricket Series against their Indian counterparts

“The Government of India has given the permission to hold the series,” said a press release from the Board for Veteran Cricket in India.

The tournament is slated to be held from December 20 to 25 at three venues — Jalandhar, Dehra Dun and Agra.

The last such series was played in India more than a decade back in 1990-91. The Pakistan team was led by Majid Khan and also featured stalwarts like Zaheer Abbas, Haroon Rashid and Sadiq Mohammad.

For India the legendary left-arm spinner Bishan Singh Bedi was the captain of the side which included Chetan Chauhan, Dilip Vengsarkar, Syed Kirmani and Madal Lal among others.
