Former BJP ideologue K. Govindacharya today ruled out any ‘‘re-think or re-evaluation” of his 2003 decision to quit active politics and not to take membership of any political party, including BJP.
‘‘In 2003 April, I had taken a conscious decision in a positive frame of mind that I will remain a swayamsevak (RSS volunteer) throughout my life, I will have full faith in integral humanism enunciated by Jan Sangh founder Late Deen Dayal Upadhyaya and I will not take membership of any political party, including BJP,” he said in an interview.
He declined to comment on reports that BJP president L.K. Advani had hinted about his return to the party fold. He asserted Advani had not made any such offer and, hence, there was no reason for him to comment on it.
‘‘I had taken a decision not to become part of any party or power politics. There is no reason why I should change it. I am satisfied with the path I have taken and there is no need to re-think or re-evaluate my decision,” the former BJP general secretary, who had quit the party following differences with then prime minister Atal Behari Vajpayee, said. Advani had said yesterday that he had not said anything about the ‘‘admission or re-admission” of Govindacharya into the party.
