PUNE, Jan 31: Seventeen-year-old Sanjeevani Vilas alias Dolly Thorve and and 20-year-old Aditi Avinash Thakar have been reported missing from the city since January 26.

Sanjeevani and Aditi, both close friends, had organised a small celebration at the latter’s residence at 503 Budhwar Peth on Tuesday. The two girls left the house in the evening to fetch bread from a bakery but never returned home.

The sudden disappearance of the girls has left both the families in a state of daze. Sanjeevani, a resident of Karia Garden, Bibwewadi, was studying in class X at the NMV high school, while Aditi was doing her first year B Com at the S P College. Efforts to trace the girls have been launched, particularly with the assistance of Sanjeevani’s uncle who is working in the crime branch of the city police. The relatives have made enquiries with all the friends but no information was forthcoming about the two girls. A complaint has also been launched with the Faraskhana police.

Meanwhile, three more cases of girls missing came to light on Sunday. One of them is 13-year-old Usha Sasane from Baner and another is 21-year-old Vidya Chavan from Pimpale Gurav. Yet another girl Nagarbai Kamble (13), a resident of Laxminagar slums in Kothrud, has been reported missing since Friday night.
