Jason Gillespie will miss reigning champions Australia’s bid to set a new world record of 12 consecutive one-day victories when they take on England in their World Cup Group A match here at St George’s Park tomorrow.
“Gillespie’s still got inflammation in his Achilles,” said Australia captain Ricky Ponting. “Brett Lee will take the new ball in his place,” he added. Australia have strolled through the World Cup thus far and Ponting agreed they could have done with some tougher encounters.
