Commerce Secretary G K Pillai will be trying hard this week to get Pakistan to move on jointly registering basmati rice as a geographic indicator in both countries. And what sparked off the renewed keenness is apparently his recent visit to Moscow, where Pillai found basmati rice packets crowding store shelves, and to his surprise, marked: 8220;Made in Italy8221;.
