Hardline Kashmiri separatist leader Syed Shah Geelani, admitted to the Tata Memorial Hospital for treatment of kidney cancer, will undergo surgery on Monday, family sources said. “All investigations were carried out and the decision to perform surgery was taken today”, Naseem Geelani, son of the ailing leader said. Geelani was flown to the city after he was unable to go to the US due to delay in getting a visa. Seventy seven-year-old Geelani, whose one kidney was removed in 2003, has been detected with cancer in the other kidney.
