CHANDIGARH, Aug 29: The two-day CME Gastro8217;99 Update concluded at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research after elaborate discussions on gastroentrology, hepatology and nutrition, today.

On the second and last day of the continuing medical education programme, various scientific sessions touching topics like chronic diarrhoea, Tuberculosis, endoscopic management of corrosive injuries and problems of gall bladder were held.

In the morning session, Dr Subhash Nepalia talked about G.I. Tuberculosis while Dr R.Kochhar spoke about endoscopic management of corrosive injuries. Diagnosis of pre-malignant conditions in GIT were discussed by Dr Kim Vaiphei.

Childhood problems like surgical management of portal hypertension were discussed by Dr K.L.N. Rao, Dr B.R. Thapa and Dr U. Poddar. In the evening session, the Indian scenario of carcinoma gall bladder was discussed by Dr Usha Datta.
