Fresh negotiations for a global trade agreement would begin after a new administration comes to the US, a senior UN official said, blaming the failure of the recent WTO talks on lack of serious efforts by the member countries.
“Most of the countries were not ready for the bargain as a regime change is expected in the US,” Special Adviser to the secretary general of the UN, Ban Ki-Moon, Jeffery D Sachs said. Talking to reporters he said the new government in the US will go for fresh negotiations at the WTO.
Meanwhile he blamed the automobile industry across the globe for the increasing consumption of fuel.
