PANCHKULA, June 8: The Panchkula police have arrested two men and recovered 1,200 pouches of liquor from their possession. The two men were caught on June 5 when a party of Excise Department along with the CIA staff and policemen on patrol searched a Maruti van near the Mansa Devi temple.

The liquor pouches marked "Rose" were found in the possession of Rakesh Kumar and Gurbagh Singh, now in police custody. After interrogation, the two revealed that they used to buy cheap liquor from Manimajra, take it to Shimla and sell it off at higher rates. The two used to receive Rs 175 per carton. A case has been registered against the two.

Meanwhile, the Panchkula police recovered a stolen motorcycle and some spare parts of another stolen motorbike, from two persons. Giving this information, Superintendent of Police Alok Mittal said that the two accused Rakesh Kumar and Satpal were nabbed by the CIA staff.

While Rakesh Kumar is a resident of Battor, Satpal is a resident of Ambala. A Hero Honda bearing number HNX-4446 was also recovered from the duo along with spare parts of motorbikes.

The two admitted that they had stolen the motorbike along with a Maruti car, with the aid of their friend Praveen, from Ambala Cantt in April. However, the car was abandoned soon after, the two told the police.
