HRD Minister Arjun Singh has said he is not averse to foreign investment in elementary education. In an interview with Karan Thapar to be aired on Friday on BBC, Singh said foreign investment in this sector could come in now that a reform regime was in place.
In the interview with Thapar, Singh downplayed the possibility of the Left being critical towards such a move. India has been receiving foreign aid in the elementary education sector from the World Bank, European Union and the DFID. —ENS
