Can you smell the roses yet? What8217;s it with pretty women and flowers, you might ask. Well, to begin with it8217;s chic and as our designers will have you know, the trend to sport this season. At the autumn-winter edition of the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week, several designers improvised on rosette motifs on their ensembles. From pretty rosette dresses by Rohit Bal and Manav Gangwani to rosette shrugs by Amit GT, it kept coming back in different avatars through the week. The layered rosette look that Varun Bahl incorporated in both his menswear and women8217;s wear stood out for the ingenuous way it had been used. Bahl used copper tones, chocolate, even taupe and black to off-set his intricate use of embroidery in silk and velvet. 8220;I want to show the India of today which wears western silhouettes blended with traditional Indian motifs.
