CHANDIGARH, Dec 2: The visitors at Agro-Tech’98, twhich started at the Parade Ground Sector 17 here today, had a lot to marvel at. More than 350 domestic and international corporates have put up stalls.
Spread over an area of nearly 16,000 square metres, many of the painstakingly done stalls at the Agro Tech are drawing big "wows" from the visitors. With major companies like Escorts, HMT, Mahendra and Mahendra, New Holland, Eicher, Bajaj and Greaves putting up mega stalls at the entrance, complete with display of the latest models of tractors, the visitors had much to absorb before they could finally make to the grand halls.
A live integrated dairy farming and processing unit, set up by the Punjab Dairy Development Department in technical collaboration with the Israel Dairy Board, proved to be a crowd puller with people coming in large numbers to see the cows being milked.
Other stalls which attracted visitors were those where flowers were on display. These flowers included varieties of roses brought from Holland, bright yellow and shaded Tulips, fragrant Lilies.
