
CHANDIGARH, May 22: A 12-member mountaineering expedition to the 25,600 feet high Mount Kamet was flagged off by the Haryana Governor Mahabir Prasad here from the Haryana Raj Bhavan today.
The team, led by Rajiv Midha, also includes four girls. The participants come from different parts of the country.
The Governor presented an ice-axe, which will be placed at the peak by the team, to Midha. Indian Oil Corporation Senior Divisional Manager Shailender Mittal presented a cheque of Rs 50,000 to the Governor who in turn handed it over to the team leader.
