Being the first spouse has its uses, one presumes. Two days after wife Pratibha Patil was sworn in as President, Devisingh Sehkhawat landed at the Army Research and Referral Hospital in Delhi for a full check-up. He was keen that his medical history be well prepared. After all, this is going to be his hospital from now and apparently he does have quite a few health problems.

As for Madam President, it8217;s learnt that a lady doctor8212;whom she has trusted for the better part of her life8212;has moved into Rashtrapati Bhavan leaving the official physician to the President8217;s doctor without much to worry. Shekhawat will not be staying with his wife but would frequently visit her from Maharashtra. There is one thing that he, however, will not mind. He wants a permanent ADC that goes with being the President8217;s spouse. Last heard, the Army was finding ways to wriggle out of this obligation . It wants to provide ADC services only when Shekhawat is in the capital.
