The Indian Express Group of Publications launched a state-of-the-art printing press in Aurangabad today, as part of its ongoing expansion plans. The printing facility was inaugurated by Aurangabad Mayor Kishanchand Tanwani in the presence of director of the Express group Ashok Pradhan, Loksatta editor Kumar Ketkar and several eminent personalities.
Speaking on the occasion, Pradhan said that Loksatta already had printing facilities at Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur taking into consideration Maharashtra’s geography. And that the modern press at Aurangabad would ensure faster and wider reach for the newspaper in Marathwada region as well as districts like Ahmednagar and Jalgaon.
Ketkar said that Loksatta had set itself a target to reach out to Marathi readers not only in Maharashtra but also about 80 lakh to one crore Marathi-speaking people living outside the state.
