CHANDIGARH, Nov 27: Nayagaon Ghar Bachao Committee at its meeting held here today welcomed the decision of the Punjab government to exempt the areas falling within the Municipal limits of Kharar, Dera Bassi and Banur from the operation of the provisions of Periphery Area Control Act, 1952.

The meeting was attended among others by Janata Colony sarpanch Gurbachan Singh, Nayagaon sarpanch M.S. Bajwa and former sarpanch of Kansal, Arjan Singh.

The committee also urged the government to exempt villages falling in the periphery of Chandigarh and regularise the existing constructions without any further delay.
