CHANDIGARH, June 12: Sepoys and havildars of the Customs and Central Excise Commissionerate here continued their strike to protest the non-fulfilment of their demands.They have been on strike since May 18 on a call given by All India Federation of Central Excise Group D Officers Association.
The strike which entered its 25th day today, has affected the work of border patrolling, preventive work and baggage duty,says a release issued here today by Gurbachan Singh, general secretary of the Group D Officers Association CCE Collectorate.
The agitating staff are demanding removal of pay anomalies, five promotions during the service career and 25 per cent posting at air pool among other things.
