CHANDIGARH, April 22: Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today said the political parties must take steps to ensure that economic stability of the country does not become a victim of political instability.
Addressing a gathering after laying the foundation stone of the Rs 6-crore PHD House here, Badal said the political parties must give consistent policies to the industry. The country needs the presidential form of government for stability, he emphasised. Finance Minister Kanwaljit Singh and Local Bodies Minister Balramji Dass Tandon and a host of industrialists from Punjab, Haryana and Delhi were present on the occasion.
PHDCCI president Ashok Khanna said the PHD House would service the industry to propel growth in the region. It was really sad that political instability had severely affected the economic activity in the country, he observed, adding that all the political parties must have a common agenda for economic growth and development.
The PHD House, which would have conference rooms, a business centre and other facilities, would be constructed in two phases. The Chamber also plans to set up a PHD Institute of Business Management.
