
CHANDIGARH, May 12: A two-week long workshop on quot;Electron Microscopyquot; began at the Panjab University campus here today.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Ashok Sahni, Director, Regional Sophisticated Instrumentation Centre, PU stated that the aim of the workshop is to provide in-depth training in electron microscopy to scientists from all over the country. Inaugurating the workshop, Prof M.M. Puri, Vice Chancellor, PU observed that scientists could contribute in enriching life it they could shed bias or prejudice born out of arrogance.
Tracing the history of electron microscopy, Dr S.K. Sharma, Director, National Physical Laboratory said the instrument had played a significant role in identifying bacteria, DNA and other materials. Among others who spoke on the occasion include Prof R. Chaudhri and Dr P.K. Sharma.
