NEW DELHI, JAN 10: Election Commission completes 50 years of its existence later this month with Chief Election Commissioner M S Gill terming the golden jubilee functions as `celebration of India’s Constitutional democratic structure’.

President K R Narayanan, Prime Minsiter Atal Behari Vajpayee, Lok Sabha Speaker G M C Balayogi, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Sonia Gandhi besides Chief Ministers of various states would attend the two day functions from January 17, Gill told newsmen.

“This occasion will demonstrate the real stability in India’s Consitutional system in the last 50 years”, the CEC said.

Poll observers from as many as 25 countries are likely to attend the functions.
