The Election Commission on Tuesday ordered repolling in 149 polling stations in five states that went to polls in the second phase of the LS elections. The repolling will be held on Wednesday.

Andhra Pradesh will have repolling in 93 booths, as the state witnessed Left extremism and other poll-related violence.

Repolling will take place in Karnataka in 14 booths, followed by Manipur — 3, and Uttar Pradesh — 25 (so far). Repolling in Assam will take place in 14 booths.

While the EC said that Jammu and Kashmir and Goa will have no repolling, it is yet to work out the details of repolling in Bihar, Maharashtra, Orissa and Jharkhand, as the ‘‘reports have not arrived’’.

The EC is awaiting a detailed report before deciding on Chapra, Bihar.
