PUNE, June 26: An executive engineer of the Delhi Vidyut Board (DVB) was reportedly manhandled during a raid at a Karol Bagh hotel on Friday evening. According to Jagdish Kapoor, DVB spokesperson, the incident took place when a team of DVB officials went to check the hotels in the area with regard to the use of ACs during peak hours. “At one of these hotels, we found that all the three meters had been tampered with. In collusion with the employees of adjoining hotels, they attacked our Executive Engineer R.K. Kachroo,” he said. DVB chairman Naveen Chawla condemned the incident, adding that FIRs had been registered for power theft.
