Mantu Kahar, the main accused in the murder of IIT engineer Satyendra Dubey was rearrested today in Gaya town. On September 13, he had escaped from the civil court in Patna when he was being produced for a routing hearing.
Police said that Mantu was arrested near his home in Panchayatee Akhada. According to sources the accused was staying in Gaya town for the past one month after running away from the court and working as a rickshawpuller.
Satyendra Dubey, the NHAI engineer was involved with the prestigious Golden Quadrilateral road project was killed in November 2003. He was murdered after he raised his voice against corruption in the GQ project and wrote a letter to the Prime Minister’s office. The CBI probing his case has concluded that the engineer was killed a road robbery.
