Riding high on the superb performance of Gurvinder (12 points), Delhi University thrashed Punjab Agriculture University by 73-24 in a league match of the North Zone Inter University Basketball Championship for men being held at Panjab University grounds on Monday. Gurvinder was the top scorer for the winning team scoring 12 points while Ankush scored 11 points. Deepanshu scored 10 points while Praveen scored six points for the winning team. For the losing side Ramandeep scored nine points while Simranjeet scored six points. In another match of the day, Jamia Milia University scored their second win as they drubbed GADU V.Sc University, Ludhiana by 54-13. Saadulla was the top scorer for the winning team scoring 16 points while Ajay and A Kamal scored 13 and seven points respectively. For the losing team Avtar scored six points while Abhishek and Harpreet scored three and two points respectively. Lovely University, Phagwara defeated Jammu University by 70-57 in a narrow encounter. Shallin was the top scorer for Lovely University scoring 19 points while Pawan and Abhishek scored 17 points each. For the losing team Kuldip scored 29 points while Rakesh scored eight points. Varinder and Amit Sharma scored six points each. MD University, Rohtak scored a 66-22 win over Aligarh Muslim University. Narinder was the top scorer for the winning team scoring 25 points while Sandeep scored 14 points. Rakesh scored eight points while Nitesh scored six points. For the losing side Mohammed Zafar scored seven points while Aditya scored six points. Hasan scored five points while Hamza scored four points. In another league match Kumaon University defeated CSKIIPKV, Palampur by 65-35. Devinder was the top scorer for the winning team scoring 17 points while Parmod and Karmender scored 16 and 12 points respectively. For the losing team Abhinav was the top scorer scoring 12 points while Prabhjot scored six points. Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar defeated Amity University, Noida by 36-24 in a close encounter. Arshdeep Singh was the top scorer for the winning team scoring 14 points while Ankit Goyal scored 11 points. In another match MJP Rohilkhand University, Bareilly defeated CSJM University, Kanpur by 44-41 in a narrow encounter. Sumit was the top scorer for the winning team scoring 19 points.
