NEW DELHI, September 17: Delhi Public School Mathura Road defeated Laxman Public School 4-1 in pool H of the Limca Soccer tournament at the Modern School ground here today.
After their title-winning performance yesterday in Hind Kishore tournament, LPS boys failed to repeat the form they showed and surrendered meekly to the guiles of DPS. Areanth was the star performer for DPS with a brace while Mohammad Sulaiman and Sushant scored a goal each.The lone goal for LPS was struck by Ashish.
In another match, two second-half goals by Dallas Bastin enabled Mount St Mary8217;s School down Upras Public School in a pool B encounter. After a goalless first session, in which MSM had the upper hand, Bastin first converted a free kick in the third minute after resumption. Upras could have equalised in the next minute but they muffed it. But Bastin found the target once again in the 20 minute to seal their fate.
