BHOPAL, FEB 28: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh is said to be enraged at two faux pas. On February 15, the Assembly passed a Bill, 8220;Madhya Pradesh Adim Jatiyon Ka Sanrakshan Vidheyak, 19998221;, that empowers a tribal to fell trees standing on his land 8220;valued at not more than Rs one lakh,8221; in one year. The Cabinet decision, it is learnt, was to permit felling of trees 8220;valued at not more than Rs two lakh.8221;

The other faux pas related to the Makhanlal Chaturvedi University of Journalism Sansthan where the government appointed S C Behar and Ram Sharan Joshi as director general and executive director, respectively.

But, Section 103 of the Act governing the sansthan says: 8220;The director general shall be a professional man from any branch of journalism or mass communication with over 20 years experience.8221; Section 11 3 says: 8220;The executive director shall be a person who has experience of at least 20 years in administration.8221;

Behar, is an ex-MP chief secretary and not a journalist whileJoshi, a special correspoindent of Nai Duniya of Indore, has no experiience in administration.
