Karnataka Chief Minister Dharam Singh today convened a high-level meeting of officials on Monday to discuss whether the state should meet PM Manmohan Singh.

The decision follows Tamil Nadu CM J. Jayalalithaa’s demand to convene a meeting of the Cauvery River Authority (CRA) to press for release of Cauvery waters. Singh declined to comment on Jayalalithaa’s letter to the PM that sought a CRA meeting for reviewing the overall situation regarding the implementation of the Cauvery Tribunal’s interim orders by Karnataka.

Singh said Union Minister T.R. Baalu spoke to him over the phone and told him that a delegation led by the DMK would meet him in Bangalore on June 10 to discuss the issue.
