DUBAI, JANUARY 14: New Era Public School, New Delhi and Siddhartha Public School, Vijayawada emerged champions in the CBSE National Badminton Championship 2001 held here.

New Era scored an exciting 2-1 win over DC Model Senior Secondary School, Panchkula in the boysâ€™ category while Siddhartha Public School overcame International Indian School, Riyadh 2-0 rather easily in the girlsâ€™ section. â€œIt is a dream come true for usâ€, New Era Schoolâ€™s team manager Kishor Guleria said.

Retaining the title for the second time coach of Vijayadawa School team Bhaskar Babu said, â€œI am glad we managed to successfully defend out title which we won for the first time last year.â€ Eminent jurist and parliamentarian, Dr L M Singhvi, gave away the trophies at the Indian Sports Club yesterday. It was the first time the event was held at a venue abroad.
