NEW DELHI, November 30: Hosts Delhi circle, last year’s runners-up Hyderabad, Chennai and Lucknow qualified for the semi-finals of the All India State Bank of India inter-circle cricket tournament.
In the semi-finals to be played tomorrow, Chennai will meet Lucknow at Hindu College grounds while Delhi will face Hydeabad at Khalsa College. The final is slated for Wednesday at the Delhi University grounds. In today’s matches, Delhi Circle beat Patna by a convincing 161-run margin at Khalsa College. Delhi scored 208 for eight in the stipulated 40 overs and then dismissed Patna for a meagre 47. Sanjeev Chopra (49), Hitesh Sharma (43) and Manoj Makkar (42) were the principal scorers for the hosts. Ravinder Bhandari (3 for 17), Zeeshan Mohd (3 for 3) and Vijay Bahadur (2 for 12) were the main wicket-takers in Patna’s innings.
In an inconsequential match at Hindu College grounds, Guwahati beat Chandigarh by 11 runs.
